hurricane helene relief
Helping grassroots aid partnership
After hearing and seeing the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, we wanted to offer help. Thanks to the support of our friends at the Wesley Foundation of WCU and help from our community and customers, we’ve been able to provide over 800 free, hot meals to people in need in Asheville.
Some of our friends from Asheville have been volunteering with Grassroots Aid Partnership since they first mobilized after the hurricane. GAP is a local nonprofit organization based in Swannanoa, NC and has been providing disaster relief since 2017 along the coasts and other regions. Now, as victims of Hurricane Helene, the team at GAP is serving their hometown and surrounding impacted areas.
So far, Grassroots Aid Partnership has cooked and provided over 45,000 hot, healthy meals to people in need, a shower and laundry trailer in Green Mountain, and clean water alternative plumbing solutions for dozens of homes and small businesses.
